Swedish Mayor Anna Ljungdell Visits Chicago

Anna Ljungdell, Mayor of Nynäshamn, Sweden visited Chicago on Thursday, June 27 as part of a trip across the U.S. that will also take her to Washington D.C., Cleveland, Chattanooga and New York. While in Chicago, Mayor Ljungdell met with the Gothenburg Committee of CSCI, World Business Chicago, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, the DuSable Museum and other Chicago leaders.

Mayor Ljungdell is the first Swedish recipient of the Marshall Memorial Fellowship. Nynäshamn is a municipality of 26,500 residents just south of Stockholm. Prior to being mayor of Nynäshamn, she was chairman of the Education Committee for two terms. In addition, she served as political advisor to the Minister of Health and Social Services and special advistor to the former Mayor of Nynäshamn.
