On Saturday, October 26, 2013, the Prague Committee of CSCI and Hon. Dana Huňátová, Consul General of the Czech Republic, hosted a reception to celebrate the National Day of the Czech Republic.
Special Guests included Mons. Václav Malý, Auxiliary Bishop of Prague and H.E. Petr Gandalovic, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the U.S.A.
They also welcomed students from Gymnázium nad Aleji and Walter Payton High School who are participating in an International Exchange Project. In addition, two law students from Masaryk University Faculty of Law (MUFL) in Brno who are studying American law at John Marshall Law School (JMLS) this semester were recognized. They are scholarship winners pursuant to a student exchange program established between JMLA and MUFL in 1994.
The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in cooperation with TGM School in Chicago launched a children’s contest “Lvíček” in order to promote an understanding of Czech heritage based upon individual family histories.
