Stanley Balzekas Receives Lithuanian Diplomacy Star

Chair of the Vilnius Committee of CSCI Stanley Balzekas received the Lithuanian Diplomacy Star for his work in promoting Lithuania’s name and preserving Lithuanian culture. The award was presented to Mr. Balzekas by Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on February 18. The evening event celebrated the 96th anniversary of the Restoration of Lithuania’s Independence.

The Lithuanian Diplomacy Star is the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry’s award of honor and was presented to Mr. Balzekas for promoting Lithuania’s name, preserving Lithuanian culture and demonstrating a commitment to advancing democratic values. In addition to his position as Chair of the Vilnius Committee, Mr. Balzekas serves as Lithuania’s Honorary Consul in Palm Beach, Florida and is the President and Founder of the Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture in Chicago.
