Chairs William A. Spence and Raymond Chin of the China Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International invite you to the 2014 Chicago Lantern Festival Gala at the Chicago Cultural Center’s G.A.R. Hall and Rotunda on Tuesday, April 15, 2014; reception at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m.This fundraising event will support the China Committee’s programs linking Chicago with its sister cities of Shanghai and Shenyang.Included in the gala are lively entertainment, a silent auction and a brief green technologies program. Chicagoan Richard Sandor, founder of the China Climate Exchange and world recognized leader in the search for climate change solutions, will be honored during the program.

Celebrated for over 2,000 years, the Lantern Festival marks the 15th and last day of the Chinese New Year celebration. Collaboration between the United States and the China has been growing rapidly throughout the last few years. This event presents a unique opportunity to build upon the already strong relationship between Chicago and its sister cities of Shanghai and Shenyang.

Tickets to the gala are $188 for the good fortune represented by the number 8 in Chinese culture.
