Accepting Nominations for the 2016 Chicago Sister Cities International Volunteer of the Year
Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI) is accepting nominations for the third annual Volunteer of the Year Award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 30, 2016.
CSCI, a division of World Business Chicago, is a volunteer-based organization whose membership drives its diverse programming and initiatives. Through the dedicated efforts of its volunteers, CSCI is the largest and most active sister city program in the United States that is regularly recognized and awarded “Best Overall Sister City Program (population over 500,001)” by Sister Cities International.
The Chicago Sister Cities International Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a volunteer committee member who has played an important role in furthering CSCI’s mission to promote Chicago as a global city, develop international partnerships and networks, and share best practices through citizen-to-citizen connections, particularly in the areas of business, culture, education, immigration and tourism.
This outstanding individual will have shown leadership, talent, passion, enthusiasm and tenacity in promoting the work of CSCI locally and abroad.
The 2016 CSCI Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented at the 2016 Chicago Consular Corps Gala on November 9, 2016. The CCC Gala is attended by members of the Chicago Consular Corps; CSCI and World Business Chicago leadership; sister city committee representatives; and corporate and civic leaders within the Chicago community. The honoree will receive complimentary admission for themselves and a guest.
- Awards are based on achievements made from October, 2015 to September 30, 2016.
- Nominees may not self-nominate.
- The nominator must be an active volunteer member of CSCI who is familiar with the work of the nominee. The nominator must submit the completed Volunteer of the Year application.
- The nominee must be an active volunteer member of CSCI with a demonstrable record over the past year of outstanding work and an exemplary model of a CSCI volunteer.
The application deadline is September 30, 2016.
Applications will be reviewed and the awardee selected by CSCI’s Advisory Board. The selected Volunteer of the Year will be notified by October 21, 2016.
