As part of a major undertaking, the City of Milan relocated Michelangelo’s final masterpiece, Pietà Rondanini, to a new museum created inside the ancient Ospedale Spagnolo (Spanish Hospital) in the Castello Sforzesco, a fascinating space that has never opened to the public before and is exclusively dedicated to Michelangelo’s last masterpiece.

The dedication of the sculpture marks the opening of “Expo in città,” a series of cultural and recreational events taking place in Greater Milan during Expo 2015 through October 31, 2015.
