Chicago Artist Unveils Public Art Project in Toronto

On July 27, Toronto Mayor John Tory joined Chicago artist Justus Roe to unveil Toronto’s latest piece of street art. The project is part of a cultural exchange between sister cities Toronto and Chicago to commemorate Canada’s 150th birthday and the ‘Year of Public Art’ that is taking place in Chicago.

The project is part of the StreetARToronto Partnership Program and is a collaboration with the STEPS Initiative, an award-winning, Toronto-based public arts organization. The project brought together the artist and local residents to transform the Roncesvalles Pedestrian Bridge, one of Toronto’s busiest connections to the waterfront. The launch was sponsored by the Palais Royale.
