Concert for Ukraine

The turmoil in Ukraine has created an under-reported and alarming humanitarian crisis. Nearly one million people have been displaced by fighting in Eastern Ukraine, including children orphaned by the war, critically wounded soldiers and families forced to leave their homes for safety. Resources to assist these refugees and victims are limited.
With the intention of bringing the Chicagoland Ukrainian community together to raise money to support those in Ukraine affected by the war, the Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International, the Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago and the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council are hosting a concert featuring renowned violinist, Maria Storm.
Maria Storm hails from Kyiv and has been deeply distressed by recent events in her homeland and the damage it has caused to her fellow countrymen. She has assembled a group of leading musicians from Chicago and New York to present a program of music—classical in the first half and modern and popular in the second—including a performance by acclaimed Ukrainian performer, Foma from Kyiv!
All proceeds raised from this concert will go the Ukrainian Federation of America (UFA). We will be working with the UFA to provide relief in the form of food, water, clothing and medical supplies to families and children in Ukraine affected by the war.
There are three sections available for seating: General Admission, Bronze Circle VIP and Silver Circle VIP. If you are unable to attend but wish to help, please consider a donation – there is a donation option on the ticket list.
PARKING / TRANSPORTATION
Second Presbyterian Church has two parking lots – one on the north end of the building and one across the street. There is also street parking available. Alternatively, the #1, #3 and #4 CTA Buses stop right in front of the church and the Red Line Cermak-Chinatown stop is three blocks away.
Second Presbyterian Church is the only church in Chicago that is a National Historic Landmark. Its interior decoration and design is the finest example of unspoiled turn-of-the-century Arts and Crafts design in North America. It is practically the same as it was in 1901 and has 9 Tiffany stained glass windows dating back to1892. For those that are interested, 4 trained docents will be available to provide tours of the building before the concert between 6:15pm and 7:00pm.
Please call Chicago Sister Cities International at (312) 201-4534 with any questions regarding this event.
