Soldier Field 10 Mile Run 2

The Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International is assembling a “Friends of Ukraine” team to run the 2016 Soldier Field 10 Mile on Saturday, May 28, 2016. Sponsored by Fleet Feet Sports, the race honors America’s Armed Forces on Memorial Day weekend.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the sister city relationship between Chicago and Kyiv and the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s modern independence, the Kyiv Committee of CSCI has been chosen as an official participating charity of the race to honor the U.S. Armed Forces for the ongoing assistance they have provided to Ukraine and to raise funds for humanitarian assistance for wounded Ukrainian soldiers and their families.

The Friends of Ukraine team is actively recruiting runners and volunteers. Volunteers will staff hydration stations on the course.  The registration fee for the Friends of Ukraine team is $100 for runners and $25 for volunteers. The fee for both runners and volunteers includes a special edition “Ukrainian Tryzub and God Bless America” t-shirt.

Those who are not able to join to run, nor to assist as volunteers are encouraged to come to the event as “guests” and support the runners inside the stadium, at the finish line inside Solider Field.

After you register below to run as part of the “Friends of Ukraine” team, you will be emailed a registration code and a link to Fleet Feet Sports website to complete the registration process.

If you have already registered directly through Fleet Feet Sports and want to run with the “Friends of Ukraine” team, please make a minimum donation of $25 below and you will receive a special edition “Ukrainian Tryzub and God Bless America” t-shirt.

Guests can also pre-purchase and reserve the special edition t-shirt with a minimum $25 donation by clicking the “Donate” link below.

The pre-paid T-Shirts will be distributed at the Kyiv Committee race tent on the morning of the race.
