The Kyiv Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International is hosting a dinner banquet to welcome the Honorable Vitaliy Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv, to Chicago on Thursday, June 11, 2015, cocktail reception at 6 pm, dinner and program at 7 pm.

Vitaliy Klitschko is the mayor of Kyiv, Ukraine and head of the Kyiv City Administration. As a politician, he is the leader of the Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform, and a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament.

He is also a former world heavyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Organization, and The Ring magazine. He has been conferred the title of Champion emeritus by the World Boxing Council. Klitschko became actively involved in Ukrainian politics in 2005. He retired from boxing in December 2013. Vitaliy Klitschko is the first professional boxing world champion to hold a Ph.D. degree (in Physical Education and Sport).
