Lucerne’s famous 50-member Noggeler Guuggenmusig Lucerne are appearing throughout Chicago March 12–15. The Noggeler is part of Lucerne’s carnival tradition, one of the most popular carnival celebrations in Europe. Strange characters in fantastic masks and costumes will make their way through Chicago, as these carnival musicians (Guggenmusigen) blow their instruments in joyful cacophony and celebration. The Noggeler play everything from folklore to pop with common brass band instruments, played mostly by amateurs and in beautiful costumes. 2015 marks the ninth time that the Noggeler has visited Chicago. Don’t miss the chance to see this uniquely Swiss group throughout Chicago! To learn more about them, please visit www.noggeler.ch.
