The inaugural concert of The Bridge, a network of jazz musicians from Chicago and France who have come together to promote transatlantic musical exchange, takes place this April in Chicago.
The Bridge was founded to encourage all aspects of musical collaboration, including touring, recording and documenting jazz and improvisational music across cultures. A network of sixty artists from the U.S. and France have combined forces to promote cross-cultural musical exploration through performances, educational workshops, public discussions & debates and master classes.
Featured performers include Fred Jackson & Stéphane Payen on the alto saxophone and Edward Perraud & Frank Rosaly on the drums.
Reception at 6:30 pm, concert at 8 pm in the Chicago Cultural Center’s Claudia Cassidy Theater.
