GOTHENBURG Reception: Gothenburg’s Culinary Elite Come to Chicago
Cuisine is increasingly global and yet heavily influenced by local ingredients and tastes. As interest in the clean flavors of Scandinavian cooking has exploded, so too has the number of accomplished chefs and restaurateurs hailing from Sweden’s west coast. This talent has been brought together in Gothenburg into the Délice Network of Good Food Cities of the World, which also includes Chicago. On Wednesday, September 25, the Gothenburg Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International is delighted to invite you to an exclusive wine reception where you can rub elbows with many rising and established stars of the Gothenburg culinary scene before they take the stage at Chicago Gourmet and attend the Délice Network conference in Chicago.
In particular, we will be welcoming Thomas Sjögren, chef at Swedish Taste in Gothenburg who will be taking part in a professional exchange program organized by the Gothenburg Restaurant Association and Illinois Restaurant Association this month at Moto in Chicago; and Camilla Claesson Karlsson, assistant restaurant manager at Gothenburg’s Fond who will also be involved in the exchange program at the Signature Room. We are also pleased to have with us for the evening Stefan Karlsson, chef at the Michelin-starred Fond; Camilla Nyman, president of Göteborg & Co.; Bengt Linde, chairman of the Gothenburg Restaurant Association; and other talents from both Sweden and Chicago’s restaurant scene.
