Seán Keane at the Irish American Heritage Center
The Irish American Heritage Center is pleased to host Seán Keane in Concert on Saturday, March 8 at 7 p.m. for a lively evening of song and music.
Seán Keane hails from Caherlistrane, County Galway, from a family of renowned singers and musicians. His unique musical voice combines traditional Irish folk, pop, blues and country styles. Keane learned the sean-nós style of singing as a young boy, and by the time he reached his teens he had collected 13 All-Ireland medals in Fleadh Ceoil competitions. He was by then an accomplished whistle and flute player, and later added uilleann pipes and bodhran to his repertoire.
Keane has been voted Performer of the Year by readers of Irish Music magazine and named a “greatest Irish musical find” by the London Independent. The Irish Times called him “the fastest rising star of the Irish music scene.” Keane has released seven solo albums and collaborated on five others. His latest 3-CD release, Never Alone, is a collection of 45 of Keane’s best-loved songs, including a handful of new recordings.
Keane enjoys a worldwide touring audience. He is thrilled to be touring the United States this spring and performing at the Irish American Heritage Center.
Seán Keane in concert is Saturday, March 8 at 7 p.m. in the Erin Room at the Irish American Heritage Center. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling 773-282-7035, ext. 10. Reservations are highly suggested as seating is limited and only 300 tickets will be sold.
