Women in Leadership
Join the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International for a celebration of International Women’s Day with Women in Leadership. Women in Leadership will feature a reception, sit-down dinner and speaker presentations moderated by Aleksandra Efimova, Co-Chair of the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International and Founder of Russian Pointe (born in St. Petersburg, Russia). Speaking will be Elena Mossina, Partner-in-Charge at Sikich, International Tax Services (born in Moscow, Russia); Mridu Sekhar, Ph.D, Founder of Sidvim, Inc., Chicago Center for Advanced Dentistry (born in Chennai, India); Natalia Sklyarova-Yurchenko, All Around Gold Medalist at the 1983 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and Owner and Founder of C.I.T.Y. Club Gymnastics Academy (Born in Norilsk, Russia); and Natalya Pavchinskaya, IT Director at Abbott Laboratories, Cybersecurity Portfolio Management (born in Odessa, Ukraine).

Aleksandra Efimova is the founder of Russian Pointe and Growing Through Arts, Chicago-based arts-oriented brands that provide dance supplies and educational products. Efimova grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia and moved to the U.S. as a young adult. She founded her first company while still in college, and is an alumna of Harvard Business School. In addition to managing her companies, Efimova chairs the Moscow Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International and Illinois Senator Mark Kirk’s Eastern European Advisory Board. She also serves as vice president, Midwest, of the U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce and frequently hosts events promoting the arts, business development and international relations.

Elena Mossina, J.D., LL.M., is Partner-in-Charge of Sikich’s International Tax practice. She is a tax attorney with experience in advising U.S. multinational clients on a wide range of international and domestic tax issues. Her experience includes cross-border restructurings, cash repatriation strategies, IP migrations and transfer pricing matters. She combines the U.S. and foreign tax analysis to provide clients with the most advantageous integrated solution from a U.S. and a foreign tax perspective.
Mridu Sekhar, Ph.D

Dr. Sekhar is a founder and former president of several companies that operated in Moscow (Russia), Kyiv (Ukraine), and Almaty (Kazakhstan). Through the years and several business transformations, she was able to build a successful dental implantology business that pioneered introduction of dental implants in the CIS and set standards for local dentists to provide state of the art care in all areas of dentistry. She successfully sold the business to the world’s leading dental implant manufacturer—Nobel Biocare.

Natalia Yurchenko was an elite artistic gymnast for the USSR in the 1970s and 80s. Natalia was the 1982 World Cup AA Champion and the 1983 World AA Champion and is best known as the originator of the Yurchenko vault family. Natalia currently resides in Chicago, Illinois where she owns a premier gymnastics training facility, C.I.T.Y. Club Gymnastics Academy, and is the head coach of Team Yurchenko, the girls’ USAG Junior Olympic program. In addition, Natalia is president and founder of Yurchenko Gymnastics, a company focused on providing gymnastics apparel and equipment equipment to competitive gymnasts.
